CHANGE HISTORY ------------------------------------------------------ Current Release - PresencePLUS CD version 2007R1B ------------------------------------------------------ Resolved the following issues: - All sensors - Intermittent issues that caused Product Change not to occur. - All sensors - Software product change does not occur when Product Select is in software Override mode. - All sensors - Enabling NTSC Annotation intermittently would cause sensor to stop responding. ------------------------------------------------------ Previous Release: ------------------------------------------------------ Version 2007R1A Resolved the following issues: - All sensors – Testing for zero blobs was not possible. - All sensors – Gain and Exposure values would get out of sync with Reference Image when discarding new image settings. - All sensors – Memory leak in Edge and Object tools if circular or elliptical ROI goes out of FOV. - All sensors - Math Tool doesn't retain its input tool name if the input tool name is a substring of other tools. - All sensors – Drawing of rotated ROIs in RUN mode is incorrect. - All sensors - If software product change is performed, then hardware product change stops responding. - Pro sensors - FWUpdater - Backup of Pro sensors fail for versions older than 1.2.2. - All sensors - FWUpdater - Unable to restore firmware that was backed up from another sensor. Version 2007R1 New Features (affects all sensors): - Blob Tool enhancements -- supports all blobs, histogram output, major/minor axes and other statistics, discards boundary blobs and fills holes. - Edge and Object Tool ROI enhancements -- Elliptical and Circular arcs are supported. - Dynamic Field of View -- User can now modify the height and width of field of view (height only in Pro sensors). - Square Root function added to Math Tool. - BCR Tool enhancements -- supports UPC-E, POSTNET, reduced Quietzone for Linear barcodes, and improvements to Linear code read rates. - BCR Tool enhancements -- Added support for FNC1, Macro 05 and Macro 06. - All sensors with BCR -- Added an ability to enable/disable grades in Barcode Tool. - Added timeout for Geo Tool. - NTSC Overlay -- Now displays inspection number and barcode data. When inspection fails, displays name of first tool that failed. - NTSC Overlay -- Option to not display any information on the image. - Firmware update allows backup/restore to all sensors (provides the ability to "clone" a sensor). - Industrial Protocols support software generated Remote Teach with hardware generated Trigger. - Industrial Protocols support software generated Product Change with sensor in hardware or software override product select modes. Resolved the following issues: - All sensors -- Pattern Find and Pattern Count tools occasionally run very slowly. - All sensors -- GEO tool displayed incorrectly after product change. - All sensors -- Math Tool fails in non-English languages. - All sensors -- QuickTeach locks up PC Software when inspection includes a Pattern Tool. - All sensors -- Output of all Test Tools on EIP/Modbus (CommTool) is zero if test tool fails. - All sensors -- Loading inspection from host sensor using PC Software would reset Gain and Exposure values. - All sensors -- Object Tool maximum width was set at 800 pixels. - All Pro sensors -- firmware updates would fail on some older versions of firmware. - All Pro Sensors -- Product change \ Remote Teach input active state was incorrect. - All color sensors -- grayscale inspections were allowed to be loaded on color sensors. - All color sensors -- Color Match tools would fail during setup if preceded by a Pattern Find or Pattern Count tool - All sensors with BCR -- checksum verify option was erroneously disabled within GUI. (For detailed description on new features, refer to "2007R1 Release Notes.pdf" document in the ..\PresencePLUS\Help\English folder.) Version 2006R6C Resolved the following issues: - All sensors – Memory leak in GEO tool when sensor attached to GUI in logging mode. - All sensors – Quick Teach fail with Pattern Find tool in inspection. Version 2006R6A Resolved the following issues: - All color sensors -- grayscale inspections were allowed to be loaded on color cameras - All color sensors -- Color Match tools would fail during setup if preceded by a Pattern Find or Pattern Count tool - All sensors -- Pattern Find and Pattern Count tools occasionally run very slowly. - All sensors -- GEO tool displayed incorrectly after product change - All Pro sensors -- firmware updates would fail on some older versions of firmware Version 2006R6A Resolved the following issues: - All sensors – Gain and Exposure values are reset during modification of existing inspections. - All sensors – Some text strings displayed in non-English languages were incorrect. Version 2006R6 : New Products: Pro II 1.3 and Pro II BCR 1.3 New Features (affects all sensors): - Math Tool – mathematical manipulation of tool results - Player/Recorder – record images and playback on sensor (monochrome sensors only) - Measure Tool enhancements – create lines from two points, measure point to point, point to line, and intersect two lines - Support additional inspections – save additional inspections in sensor’s flash memory (if space is available) - Backup/restore – backup sensor’s firmware, inspections, and configuration data, must restore to same sensor (same MAC address) - GUI supports administration and non-administration users. For multiple installations of the GUI, you must have admininistation rights - Output LEDs on GUI reflect the state of the inputs (sampled at trigger) - Inspections created on a Pro sensor can be loaded into a ProII sensor Resolved the following issues: - All P4 sensors – NPN general input pins were inverted - Pro II sensors – Product Change and Remote Teach were being initiated on the wrong edge - All sensors – system error #27 asserted while running an inspection - All BCR sensors – BCR tool checksum selection not functioning with multiple selections - All ProII sensors – full exposure range was not accessible on Setup page - All ProII sensors – Product Select was incorrectly on option for the I/O lines, there is a dedicated line - ProII Color sensors – deleted a 1.3sec delay that occurred during product change - ProII Color sensors – color tool execution time gradually increased has been corrected - All sensors – extraneous result data captured in GUI when product changing to Location 0 - All sensors – measured to origin if input tool did not find location data, measure tool now fails Important Note for updating firmware To enable additional inspection storage, the Firmware Updater must convert the sensor's internal directory structure. This conversion will have the following two consequences: 1. After this update, old Firmware Updaters will NOT function! You must use the 2007R1B Updater. 2. The conversion process will require more time than typical (could take up to 10 - 15 mins) Banner strongly recommends you back up the sensor's firmware. Prior to starting a firmware Update sequence! Note: The 2006R4D and 2006R5C Firmware Updaters (located on www.bannerengineering.com) will support a conversion from 2007R1B back to the 2006R4 or 2006R5 releases. Important Note for down-converting firmware The Firmware Updater must convert the sensor's internal directory structure to support the old style of inspection (.inp files). This down conversion will have the following three consequences: 1. Inspections in locations 13 and higher (9 and higher on a P4BCR) will be discarded. 2. After the downgrade, old Firmware Updaters will NOT function! 3. The conversion process will require more time than typical (could take up to 10 - 15 mins) Banner strongly recommends you back up the sensor's firmware. Note: The 2006R4D and 2006R5C Firmware Updaters (located on www.bannerengineering.com) will support a conversion from any old firmware version to the 2006R4 or 2006R5 releases.
