PresencePLUS ImageExport Utility |
NOTE: |
Administrative rights are required when running PresencePLUS PC software installations on Windows NT, 2000, XP, Vista |
Introduction
The Image Export
utility is an ActiveX control and sample application to be used in
conjunction with the Image Export feature of PresencePlus Vision
Sensors. This feature allows inspection images from the sensor to be
sent over TCP/IP to an application program. These images can then be
displayed or saved to disk for archival purposes. The ActiveX control
provided in this utility simplifies the creation of such application
programs. The sample application is a working example of the use of
the ActiveX control. This feature requires PresencePlus Software
Release 2006R3 (or later).
Installation
The
ImageExport Utility is installed from the PresencePLUS installation
media via the CD Menu Program. The utility includes:
ActiveX control
Help file for the control
Sample application
Users Guide
Guidelines
For
best performance when trying to communicate with multiple sensors at
the same time please follow the guidelines below:
Use a high-end modern computer.
Network adapter on the computer should support at least 100 Mbps network traffic (1 Gbps preferred for high resolution images)
Network adapter on the computer should be configured to full-duplex mode.
All switches between the sensor and the computer should be Manaaged Switches capable of handling high network traffic.
All ports on the switches should be configured to full-duplex mode (auto-negotiation may not provide enough throughput)
PresencePLUS Downloadable Inspections Utility |
NOTE: |
Administrative rights are required when running PresencePLUS PC software installations on Windows NT, 2000, XP, Vista |
Introduction
The Downloadable
Inspections utility is a software module to be used in conjunction
with the Downloadable Inspections feature of PresencePlus Vision
Sensors. This feature allows you to retrieve information about the
sensor, start a new inspection, upload an inspection to the sensor,
and download an inspection from the sensor. The software module
provided in this utility simplifies the creation of application
programs using this feature. The sample application is a working
example of the use of the classes and methods contained in the
software module. This feature requires PresencePlus software 2006R3
or later.
Installation
The
Downloadable Inspections Utility is installed from the PresencePLUS
installation media via the CD Menu Program. The utility includes:
Sofware module
Help file
Sample applications
Users Guide
PresencePLUS Modbus / TCP Utility |
NOTE: |
Administrative rights are required when running PresencePLUS PC software installations on Windows NT, 2000, XP, Vista |
Introduction
The Modbus/TCP
utility is an ActiveX control and sample application to be used in
conjunction with the Modbus/TCP feature of PresencePlus Vision
Sensors. This feature allows the sensor to be controlled over TCP/IP
using the Modbus/TCP protocol. The ActiveX control provided in this
utility simplifies the creation of application programs that control
the sensor using Modbus/TCP. The sample application is a working
example of the use of the ActiveX control. This feature requires
PresencePlus software 2006R3 or later.
Installation
The
Modbus/TCP Utility is installed from the PresencePLUS installation
media via the CD Menu Program. The utility includes:
ActiveX control
Help file for the control
Sample application
P+Pro Configuration Menu |
NOTE: |
If you use the serial port for PresencePLUS GUI software to camera communication, you must enable PPP on the camera following the firmware installation. This version of firmware disables PPP to allow the Communication Tool to use the serial channel. To re-enable PPP for the PC (Presence Plus GUI) to camera communication, within the P4 Configuration menu select 'p' to enter the PPP Serial State menu item and select to enable PPP. |
NOTE: |
When PPP is enabled, the Communication Tool will NOT be able to use the serial channel. |
The P+Pro configuration menu may be entered during power up of the sensor. The P+Pro configuration menu supports the following parameters:
Display the current sensor IP Address and Subnet Mask.
Modify the sensor's IP Address and/or Subnet Mask.
Display the sensor's MAC address.
Display the sensor's PPP Serial state.
Modify the sensor's PPP Serial state (i.e. enable/disable PPP).
To access the P+Pro Configuration menu, perform the following steps
Set up a serial communications termain program (eg HyperTerm) connection with the following properties:
COM Port = (Port on PC which is connected to Sensor)
Baud Rate = 115200
Data Bites = 8
Parity = NONE
Stop Bits = 1
Flow Control = NONE
Connect serial port cable from PC port being used to the sensor
Start the serial communications terminal program and ensure that communications on the specified port are enabled.
Reboot the sensor (cycle power)
Immediately after the power is restored, start pressing any key on the keyboard.
Within 10 seconds you should see the [P+Pro Configuration] menu prompt
The P+Pro configuration menu supports the following commands:
d - Display the current IP Address, Subnet Mask, MAC address, and PPP Serial state.
i - Change the current IP Address and Subnet Mask. The IP Address and Subnet Mask should be entered in dot notation. The default Subnet Mask is 255.255.255.0
p - Change the current PPP Serial state. The PPP Serial state either enables the operation of the "PC Serial" (DB9) serial port to allow Dial-Up Networking (PPP) to establish communication with the camera, or disables this serial port for PPP. Note: If the serial port is enabled for PPP, then this port will NOT allow the Communication Tool to output data on this port.
@ - Boot the camera system.
? - Display this help information.
h - Display this help information.
When finished making changes type a '@' followed by the enter key to reboot

Installation fails to complete
PresencePLUS required DLL/OCX files are in use by another program. During installation process, the setup program checks these files and installs them if they were not previously there or versions were detected).
Close all running applications prior to installing PresencePLUS PC software to eliminate the possibility of another program using these same files
DLL/OCX files fail to register during installation
The PresencePLUS PC software requires several DLL/OCX files to be installed on your PC (copied and then registered)
If you received the error message " fail to register.....file " then there is a possibility that one (or more) of the system files required to register PresencePLUS PC Software DLL/OCX files is missing.
Load the PresencePLUS installation CD/DVD into your drive
Using Windows Explorer browse to "Diagnosis\DLLcheck" sub directory
Double click on file "depends.exe" to open dependency Walker utility
Click on 'File' menu
